POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

Prior to participating, all participants must review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures and COVID-19 Guidelines for Competitions.

 

FORMAT

Single Elimination Match Play (Net)

 

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 11

• ROUND OF 16: Tee 1– 7:00 a.m. Tee Time start

• QUARTERFINALS: Tee 1– 12:00 p.m. Tee Time Start

                                                                       

THURSDAY, DECEMBER

• 12 SEMIFINALS: Tee 1– 7:00 a.m. Tee Time start

• FINALS:  Tee 1– 12:00 p.m. Tee Time Start

 

All players will play to their lowest Handicap Index as of December 1st 2020. The SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Committee reserves the right to adjust a player’s course handicap at any time prior to or during the competition.

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS: 

• Starting times and pairings are posted on scga.org.
• Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss with each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off.
• Materials such as tees, pencils, and hole location sheets will not be distributed until further notice. Refer to the SCGA COVID-19 Guidelines for Competitions for further instructions.

 

REGISTRATION:

There will be no formal registration at this event.

   

TEES:

All MEN will play from the WHITE tee markers. CR: 69.0 / Slope 122 / Approx. 6,064 yards / Par: 72

All WOMEN will play from the GOLD tee markers. CR: 71.4 / Slope: 129 / Approx. 5,263 yards / Par: 72

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

Players may arrange a practice round at their own expense.  Please contact the golf shop at (714) 730-1611 to schedule a practice round.  Normal rates apply.  Practice rounds are based on a space available basis based on club member play.

 

DRIVING RANGE:

• The driving range will be open at 6:30 a.m. on the day of the event.  Range balls will be provided compliments of the Tustin Ranch Golf Club and the SCGA.
• Players should arrive on site no earlier than one hour prior to their starting time and must limit driving range usage to 15 minutes.  

 

FOOD SERVICE AND PURCHASES:

• The snack bar will be open from 7:00 a.m. until the conclusion of play. Cash and Credit Card charges will be accepted.  
• Lunch will be provided each day.

 

RULES OF PLAY:

• Players must familiarize themselves with the SCGA’s COVID-19 Guidelines for Competitions.
• The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play.
• Local Rules and Terms of the Competition can be found on the SCGA Hard Card and the Notice to Players that will be emailed to players the day prior to the tournament.

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION / PULL CARTS & PUSH CARTS:

Golf carts are included as part of the entry fee and all contestants are encouraged to ride. Each player is entitled to their own single rider cart. Pull carts and push carts are allowed.

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

Caddies and spectators are not permitted.

 

DRESS CODE:

Players and caddies must be properly attired in golf shirts, slacks, Bermuda-length dress or golf shorts and soft spike shoes. Jeans (any color or any kind), T-shirts and tank tops will not be permitted. 

 

AWARDS & TIES

A match that ends all square at the conclusion of 18 holes will be played off hole-by-hole until one side wins a hole.  The playoff will start on Hole 1 and continue until decided.

 

After the conclusion of the final match, awards will be issued to the Match Play Champion, the Runner up, and the 2020 Player of the Year.

 

One-Day Series Player of the Year - The Player of the Year award will be awarded to the participant with the highest point total after the Match Play Championship. (The winner of the Match Play Championship does not automatically win the Player of the Year.)

• One-Day Series Match Play Champion – Crystal trophy and a $500 Roger Dunn Gift Card
• One-Day Series Match Play Runner-up – Pewter plate and a $250 Roger Dunn Gift Card
• 2020 Player of the Year – Commemorative framed flag and a $750 Roger Dunn Gift Card

In the event of a tie for any place on the One-Day Series Points List, the tie shall be broken based on;

1. Number of 2020 One-Day events participated in
2. Best finish in a 2020 One-Day event

 

CANCELATIONS:

• To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org or (818) 980-3630.
• If a player needs to withdraw on the morning of the competition, notify the SCGA staff person through the golf shop staff at the host venue.
• Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
• Refund Policy:
  • Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $10 administrative fee.
  • Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
  • Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
